A telecentric lens is a specialized type of optical lens designed for high-precision measurement and machine vision applications. Unlike standard lenses, telecentric lenses maintain a constant magnification within a specific working distance range, eliminating perspective errors and reducing image distortion caused by object depth variations.

There are three types of telecentric lenses:

• Object-side telecentric: Light rays enter the lens parallel from the object side; ideal for dimensional measurement.

• Image-side telecentric: Light rays exit the lens parallel on the image sensor side; useful for reducing sensor-induced errors.

• Bi-telecentric: Offers parallel light paths on both sides, ensuring maximum measurement accuracy and image consistency.
