AN/PVS-7 is a monocular night vision device developed in the United States, using a third-generation image intensifier tube. This night vision device was developed with the goal of replacing the AN/PVS-5 night vision device that has been equipped with the US defense since the Vietnam War. "AN/PVS" is a code name based on the standards of the Joint Electronic Equipment Nomenclature System and is the abbreviation of "Army/Navy Portable Viewfinder."
